Briscoe Cain

Texas House of Representative District 128

Kingwood Area Republican Woman Would like to thank Texas House of Representative District 128, Briscoe Cain for being one of our Top Sponsors for our biennial fundraiser Texas Roundup - A Celebration of Texas Independence Day. In the weeks leading up to our event on March 2, we will be showcasing our sponsors with FIVE FUN QUESTIONS.

Because I care more about the next generation, then I do myself.

Tell me about your name. Is it a family name?

Yes, my first name does come from a family name. Actually, it’s honoring a grandmother and so her maiden name was Briscoe. It’s been carried on ever since then in our family, in fact we’re named in honor of Andrew Briscoe, a lineal ancestor of mine who fought The Battle of San Jacinto.

How did you propose to your wife, Bergundi?

I proposed to my wife in Mexico on a beach. In fact she had just cut her foot, but I still went through with it and I asked her in Spanish.

Why did you choose to move to Crosby?

We chose to move to Crosby to get out of the suburbs. I love the culture out in the unincorporated areas.

Do you plan on raising livestock or just plan to enjoy the scenery?

Yes. The farm we just purchased- the idea is to get livestock. Our boys have already signed up for 4H. We’ve had chickens in the past but we will certainly be running cattle.

What inspired you to get involved in politics?

If I could summarize it - why I got into politics? It’s because I care more about the next generation than I do myself.
