Brandon Creighton

Texas Senator District 4

Kingwood Area Republican Woman would like to thank Texas Senator District 4, Brandon Creighton for being one of our Top Sponsors for our biennial fundraiser Texas Roundup - A Celebration of Texas Independence Day. In the weeks leading up to our event on March 2, we will be showcasing our sponsors with FIVE FUN QUESTIONS.

“Don’t wait on anyone to do it…do it yourself.” - my dad, Morris Creighton.

How long have you and your family lived in the Houston area?

My family has lived in Montgomery County for 8 generations. My kids would be the 9th generation.

Having gone to UT, what is your favorite memory during your college years?

When I was in undergrad, I was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. One of my best memories was a ski trip with my fraternity brothers- - one who you may have heard of - - Matthew McConnaughey. It was a great time, but I won’t get into too many details!

What is the best advice you have ever received?

“Don’t wait on anyone to do it…do it yourself.” - my dad, Morris Creighton.

With the border crisis still being top of mind, what will you be working on with Governor Abbot to slow down illegal immigration?

The Texas Legislature has dedicated billions to securing the border, but more must be done. Operation Lone Star has been successful in slowing down illegal immigration, as well as the barbed wire and buoy barriers in place. I think Texas has also sent a message to the rest of the nation by bussing migrants to sanctuary cities - - and people all over the nation are waking up and realizing what it means to be a border state on the front line of this crisis. I have also filed bills to give the Texas Facilities Commission eminent domain to take necessary action to construct the border wall, as well as a resolution declaring an invasion under Article 1, Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution.

Why did you decide to go into politics?

See the answer to “What is the best advice you have ever received?”. Like most people, I got tired of yelling at the TV and getting frustrated with the status quo.
